Professional profile

The nurse anesthetist & resuscitation professional works under the responsibility and direct supervision of the anesthesiologist or the surgeon and performs anesthesia-resuscitation procedures.

  • Master the usual technical protocols in anesthesia-resuscitation across operating rooms and intensive care units.
  • Adapt to different anesthesia-resuscitation disciplines (including emergency services).
  • Intervene in the event of natural disasters or accidents.
  • Provide basic and intensive nursing care to patients.
Tasks

Before surgery: you will learn to prepare anesthesia equipment, IV administration materials, and airway devices and equipment to evaluate and monitor the patient under anesthesia. You will also be trained to carry out a full preoperative assessment, including physical examination and diagnostic tests.

During surgery: you will be prepared to induce and maintain adequate anesthesia, establish and secure the airway, position the patient properly, and monitor vital signs and anesthesia effectiveness.

After surgery: you will learn to escort patients to the post-anesthesia care unit, evaluate and monitor them, and provide postoperative care. You will also be ready to respond to anesthesia complications and emergencies and initiate advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation and intensive care procedures.
