Job description

Under the supervision and responsibility of an optician, the eyewear assembler is both a skilled craftsperson, a rigorous stock manager, and an attentive sales advisor.

In the workshop

Busy in the workshop next to the store, the optics-eyewear assembler fits corrective lenses into frames. Based on the eye examination carried out by the ophthalmologist (resulting in a prescription) and measurements taken by the optician, they center, cut, mount, adapt and check the lenses.

A meticulous technician, they also handle repairs: arms that are loosening or, on the contrary, too tight and uncomfortable behind the ears.

In the store

When available, the assembler welcomes customers and advises them on frames and lenses adapted to their case, in accordance with the medical prescription.

Supporting the optician, they take the basic measurements needed for the correct execution of the prescription.

Beyond their technical role and customer advisory duties, the assembler checks orders and deliveries, prepares and carries out inventories, and ensures equipment maintenance.
