The Dental Prosthetics Technician is a professional with the skills needed to carry out all work related to the fitting of a dental prosthesis.

Professional profile

  • Design and produce fixed prostheses (metal and metal-resin).
  • Measure, draw, carve, mold, assemble, test and adjust prosthesis mock-ups and models.
  • Manufacture and adjust the final prosthesis frameworks and supports.
  • Identify, clean and store instruments and prosthetics equipment.
  • Keep laboratory rooms clean and well organized.
  • Identify the technical, aesthetic and economic characteristics of materials and accessories used for prosthesis production.
Training outcomes

By the end of the program, graduates will be able to:

  • Manufacture dental prostheses (bridges, crowns or posts, partial resin dentures, full removable dentures, cast metal frameworks).
  • Replace a natural organ with an artificial organ.
  • Pour dental impressions.

Career opportunities

Graduates can work in a hospital center or a private clinic. They may also open their own workshop if they are proactive and entrepreneurial.
